FAQ
Do you take Traditional Medicare Part B?
Yes. I do.
Do you take Medicare Advantage plans?
No. I do not. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, I can see you, but you’ll end up having to pay privately for the care received.
Where do you see your patients?
I visit you in your home, as long as you live in Lancaster or Lebanon Counties in PA. (I’ve never understood why the person with the illness or injury has to travel to see the doctor. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?)
How much do you charge?
I accept Medicare assignment, so the government sets my rates and pays me.
Do I have to get a doctor’s order first?
No. You do not. I have a direct-access license, which allows me to come out and see you initially without a physician’s referral. Once we’ve determined that there’s something I can do for you, I’ll call your doctor and get an order for further care.
How long have you been doing this?
I’ve been a physical therapist since 1992, and I’ve worked for myself for 13 years. That means it’s always going to be me taking care of you. Not a laundry list of one person after the other. Just me. Just the way it should be. One person taking care of another.
How long is it usually between when I call and the time you can come out?
Usually, it’s just a couple of days at most. I work in Lebanon County a few days a week and in Lancaster County a few days a week, so we’ll find a day that suits.
What must I have ready and how long is the evaluation?
You won’t need much. I’ll need to see your Medicare card, a list of your medications and I’ll need you to sign a paper that allows me to take care of you. I’ll take a medical history, and we’ll get started that day on figuring out what’s wrong, and start to get you better. Most evaluations take about 60-75 minutes. We’ll then set up a few appointments during the week that suit both our schedules, and you’re done. You might be tired, but you’ll also be sitting in your own chair, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of your day.
